Yarn...what a hold it has on me!
I love this "Ultimate Source Book" because it not only has a wide variety of crochet stitches to choose from but also knitting. As a bi-crafter I am always on the lookout for books that integrate these two crafts. Whether you want it for both crafts or just one it is a wonderful book for any crafter to have in his or her library.
The book has a great layout to help the user easily find the best pattern for a given project. Knitting and Crochet are in separate sections of the book and there are over 900 stitch patterns to choose from!
Looking at just the Crochet section (since this IS a crochet website) it begins with a section on Techniques. It doesn't matter how seasoned you are, it is always nice to have a little reminder of how to do a particular technique every now and then. This section includes everything from changing colors on a project to detailed instructions with pictures for Tunisian Crochet.
After the 'techniques' chapter the Crochet section is separated by 'pattern style'. They include medium-weight patterns, heavyweight patterns, openwork, crochet motifs, and edgings. If you are a designer who is inspired by different stitches then this is the book for you!
Simply put, this book is a great one to have, so put it on your Amazon.com wish list :-)
